22 November 2013 – Swiss Positions + Swiss Scales Symposiums
The Swiss positions + Swiss scales exhibition is an enhanced version of the Presence Switzerland touring Swiss positions photo architecture exhibition. It takes place at the Korea Foundation Gallery in Central Seoul from November 7 to December 20. The exhibition features a substantial ETH contribution on building technologies and a Yonsei Uni-versity contribution on folded chairs.
Parallel to the exhibition, 4 inspiring lectures, discussions and symposia with participants from ETH Zürich and its Future Cities Lab Singapore (FCL), Yonsei University, Hongik University and University of Seoul took place at Yonsei University.
Topics of these 4 Yonsei-ETH workshops ranged from Urban Planning (Prof. Christiaanse), an introduction on Information Architecture (Prof. Schmitt), Digital Fabrication and Low Exergy (M. Budig, M. Bruelisauer) to Alternative Building Materials (Prof. Hebel). Thus, different scales of architecture and urban issues were discussed and participants also got a very good overview of research activities at ETH and FCL. These workshops attracted a total audience of about 250 students, architects and urban designers and really raised the profile of Swiss architecture and ETH Zürich among the public.
The exhibition at Korea Foundation Gallery in Central Seoul is still open to the public until 20 December 2013 and free of charge.
